This is an easy way to mount the kit because the holes in the top of the headlight line up directly with the holes in the tachometer speedometer mount. The only reason I am getting rid of this is because I don't have time for riding any more so I am parting out my bike. Using the included washers, bolts and the chrome tubes it easily and securely mounts to the top of the headlight.

The Harley Davidson site officially lists '07 '08 xl883 std, '07 '10 xl883l and '07 later xl883r model's. What you see in the first picture is what you get the box, the tachometer, the wiring harness, the headlight mounting hardware, and the installation instructions. In the last picture you can see I mounted the tachometer directly above the headlight using the chrome tubes shown in the first picture, which are included.

But with a new handlebar mount it will fit on more bikes than that, as shown in the last picture. Stock on '07 '08 xl1200r model's. For sale here is my genuine Harley Davidson tachometer kit, retails for thanks. Notice 2 the only problem with this kit is that the neutral light wire in the harness is loose so the neutral light only occasionally works.

Other than that it works perfectly. Notice 1 it does not come with the speedometer, the last picture is for reference only. I bought this brand new about two years ago and it was on my 2008 Nightster and it should work with most newer Sportster and Nightster 2008 and up but check around on the forums online to make sure.
